Samuel Pompeo Quintett feat. Auner Quartet

Two worlds collide - geographically and musically. The Corona crisis makes traveling impossible, but it brings creative approaches in global musical projects.

The Viennese string quartet was invited to a collaboration by Samuel Pompeo, a well-known jazz saxophonist from Brazil. His quintet, the Samuel Pompeo Quintet - is heavily influenced by the Brazilian tradition of the choros.

However, the five musicians in his ensemble are not traditional choir musicians, but rather cultivate a high degree of appreciation for the genre. Samuel Pompeo works regularly with well-known Brazilian music groups such as Soundscape Big Band, Banda Mantiqueira and Banda Savana. He teaches at the music school in São Paulo, the music school of the Municipal Theater Foundation.
